First Pillar Developmental Program (Technical skill development program for players born in 2007, 2008, or 2009)

The United States Soccer Federation (USSF) has identified the importance of early exposure to proper soccer techniques as vital to the growth and potential success of young players.  Possessing the proper technique will not only prepare the players for the next level but, will, more importantly, increase their enjoyment of the game!

ABYSA has designed the First Pillar Developmental Program as a technical skill building program for players born in 2007-2009 to suppliment their participation in rec soccer. The program is intended to introduce the players to a training experience consistent with ABYSA’s next level of play (HFC Academy or HFC Challenge) while helping teach them the techniques necessary for higher levels of enjoyment of the game.  Each member of the First Pillar staff has played professional or collegiate soccer and is qualified to teach developmentally appropriate soccer material to ABYSA’s youth soccer players.  The program is positioned to be

a second day of practice for players participating in the ABYSA Recreation Program.  Players would go to their recreation team practice one day of the week and then come to First Pillar for a second practice.

Program sessions will be held on Tuesday or Thursday beginning in March, running through the beginning of May.  Sessions will run from 5:00 pm-6:30 pm at the Buncombe County Sports Park field #3.   The fee for the 7-session program is $88 per player.  Registration is open to all players born in 2007, 2008, and 2009.  Registration Deadline is March 8.
