All NCYSA affliated teams from all over North Carolina are invited to join us for a fun and friendly, end of the season, celebration of soccer.
ABYSA hosts a Recreation Soccer Event each season for all NCYSA affiliated soccer associations. This season we are excited to host the NCYSA Recreation Showcase and Tournament. This one day soccer extraveganza will be a great event for any team. At the event NCYSA will provide a Coaches Education seminar, a Parent Education seminar and there will be lots of skill clinics and competitions for the kids to participate in between games. Come join us in Asheville and promise to make the trip worth it with quality competition on quality fields in the unique city of Asheville in the beautiful mountains of NC on Memorial Day weekend. It couldn’t get any better.
The U8 through U12 age groups play in a “showcase” format, meaning each team will play 3 games and each player will receive a medal. No standings are kept and the focus is on having fun and participation.
The U13/14 (combined age group) and HS age groups play in a “tournament” format, where each team will play for a spot in the championship game. All players on the winning team will receive a Trophy. Each team will be guaranteed 3 games.
Festival Rules:
U8:
- 5v5 (4 field players and a goalkeeper)
- No offside
- Four 6 minute quarters
- Kick-ins instead of throw-ins
- All kick-ins and free kicks are indirect
- All other rules based on USYSA guidelines for small-sided play
U9/10:
- 6v6 (5 field players and a goalkeeper)
- No offside
- Four 10-minute quarters
- Goalkeepers cannot punt over half field
- All other rules based on USYSA guidelines for small-sided play
U11/12:
- 8v8 (7 field players and a goalkeeper)
- 2 20 minute halves
- All other rules based on USYSA guidelines for small-sided play
U13/14 and HS:
- 8v8 (7 field players and a goalkeeper)
- 2 25 minute halves
- All other rules based on USYSA guidelines for small-sided play
