Weather Info – Recreation
For up-to-date weather information, please visit the ABYSA homepage or call the weather hotline (828.299.7277).
Poor weather is not a sufficient reason for cancellations of training or games. In the event of lightning, players are first to be moved to their vehicles. If at John B. Lewis Complex or Buncombe County Sports Park and there is not a vehicle available, players are to go to the covered buildings for shelter. In the case of severe weather before or during training, team coaches will determine whether practice will be canceled.
In the case that DANGEROUS (lightning, high winds) weather arises or natural turf surfaces are judged to be unplayable by ABYSA staff or referees, they may change the status of your games. This determination will be made AT THE FIELD!
ABYSA will follow a policy of canceling training when the National Weather Service issues a dangerous weather WARNING for our area.
As is always the case with severe weather and school cancellations, do not assume cancellations. Please check the ABYSA homepage to see if any changes have been made to your games.
