How can I get involved with ABYSA’s Outreach Programs?
With programs running five days a week year-round, ABYSA’s Outreach Programs allow for many ways and opportunities to get involved. All of our programs utilize volunteers in varying capacities. “GO TO GOAL!,” for example, relies on volunteers to help transport the players home from practices, to and from games, and as supporters during the games. The easiest way to get involved is to call or email the outreach coordinator to figure out what program, day, or time works best with your schedule.
What outreach programs does ABYSA offer?
ABYSA offers a growing list of year-round outreach programs. We have partnered with the YWCA; Asheville Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Arts Department; Project March’s Children First; and Asheville Middle School. We also run the “GO TO GOAL!” program, an after-school athletic and life skills program for girls.
How many kids are served through ABYSA’s outreach programs?
Over the course of a year, we serve approximately 650 youth in our various programs who would be otherwise vastly underserved by other youth sports organizations.
